Alright! Here’s the Part 2 entry on how i’m combating my acne after stopping medication..
Besides facial (once every 3 weeks), i also went on a new daily skincare routine to care for my skin…
Step One: Cleansing
This is the MOST important step of all and it is important to use effective products that will remove all dust, excessive sebum, impurities and make-up which contributes to skin problems (like acne and sensitivity).. In addition, you will need a perfectly cleanse skin in order to prep it for your other skincare products (So that whatever you applied on will be fully absorbed and penetrated by the skin).. So if you think that your serum, moisturizer or any expensive skincare products aren’t working well, maybe you should take a step back and look at your basis cleansing routine.. If your pores are congested with impurities and residues, how can essence / nutrients be able to penetrate into the skin well?
Phase One (HY-OL) – Suitable for all skin types and free of preservatives, this cleansing oil is derived exclusively by Babor thus making it unique in the cosmetics market.. This hydrophilic cleansing oil is combined with the natural cleansing powers of water and oil to bring about deep-action cleansing abilities.. It is based on pure natural oil and has to be used in conjunction with the Phytoactive (for specific skin type) to remove both oil and water soluble impurities gently yet thoroughly.
Phase Two (Phytoactive) – As i have combination and sensitive skin, i’m alternating between Phytoactive sensitive / Combination to treat different skin concerns. When my skin shows signs of redness, i will use sensitive as it calm and relax the skin with herbal essences of lime blossom, hopes and balm mints. When i have some breakouts on my jawlines due to hormones, i will use combination to refine and balance the skin with herbal essences of sage, witch Hazel and Azulene.
Directions to use the Bi-phase cleansing set:I will use 1 pump of HY-OL on dry hands and massage it over my dry skin… Make sure that you ‘dislodge’ all impurities and make-up using circular motions (try to focus more on areas where you are prone to skin problems and for me it will be the jawline).. After which, use 1 pump of Phytoactive and smooth it over the skin… Next, massage in with moistened fingertips until milk emulsion is formed.. To make sure that my skin will be cleansed properly, i’ll wet my fingertips a total of 3 times and repeat the massaging action 3 times… Once done, i will rinse my skin clean with plenty of lukewarm water..
HY-OL retails at $69 (200ml) and Phytoactive retails at $50 (100ml) at My Cozy Room.
Step Two: Calming my skin with Cool Massage Roller
After cleansing my skin, i’ll calm my sensitive skin down with this roller… You have to store this in your fridge in order to chill the gel / water inside… The roller will act as a form of cold therapy to calm down the irritations on my face due skin sensitivity… Because i have sensitive skin, my skin will itch sometimes and suffer from ‘sensitivity boils’.. After using this on a daily basis, i do observe that my skin seems calmer and it soothe itchiness… I’ll use it more on my jawline as it reduces the redness of my jawline pimples / acne. This roller also acts as a form of eye messenger and it will relieve tired eyes instantly..
The cool massage roller retails at about SGD$20 with shipping and you can order it from Qoo10 (G-market)
Step Three: Cleansing and Toning of Skin
Because i have sensitive skin, i cannot use toner that contains alcohol as it will worsen the sensitivity (Which will lead to redness and breakouts).. Celine from My Cozy Room has recommended me the Rose Toning Lotion to refresh, clarify and calm my skin after cleansing.. Suitable for all skin types (even for sensitive skin), the Babor’s Rose Toning Lotion is alcohol-free and it helps to cleanse pores deep down. With nourishing essence of roses, the rose toning lotion helps to refresh, calm, relax and re-balance the skin’s surface with its moisturizing properties.
6) Yeast, vitamin B and niacinamide: Regulates the sebum balance.
Pure Daily Purifying cream retails at $89 (200ml) at My Cozy Room
Step Five: Sunblock to protect your skin during the day
During day time, i’ll skip the PURE daily purifying cream and apply Sun block instead.. Because i have pores which will be congested very easily, i have to keep the amount of skincare products on my face to bare minimum to reduce skin from clogging… Previously, i was sponsored with Hada labo’s UV moist emulsion and i really love the light and non-greasy texture (Even my fiance has said so)..

Step Six: Zap those spots away and cover up!
For pimples on my face, i will use LMS Spotlights 24 to speed up the healing process and to reduce the redness.. So far, i have not come across a good pimple cream which will heal spots as fast as LMS Spotlights.. I find that using it twice a day is good enough to reduce inflammation so that the acne / pimples heals faster.
I have also stopped using concealer as Celine told me that it will clog my pores badly.. Instead, i’m using Babor Tinted Purifier cream (2 in 1 pimple cream) which will conceal pimples while it treats blemishes. It is formulated with plantain and mahonia extract plus tea tree oil to stop bacterial growth and absorb excess oil. Coverage of the tinted cream is good as it is able to cover up the redness of my spots.. In addition, it will draws the oil out from the pimples fast so as to speed up the healing process.. Since it contains pigments, it is not recommended to use it at night while you sleep…
Beside these, i’m also taking Royal Jelly as my friend told me that it improves her acne condition.. I’m still monitoring to see the results and will keep you updated.. That’s all for my simple daily skincare routine to keep acne away from my face…
Keep a lookout for my next post as i’ll be sharing more on ZA make-up products..
Till then, take care everyone! 🙂
