Hurraw! Black Cherry Balm (Tinted)

To ‘cast’ a deep red sheer tint on your lips, the Hurraw! Black Cherry Balm infused with all natural organic black cherry and wildcrafted alkanet makes it all juicy and yummy!

Do note that the tint of the Black Cherry Balm can vary in color due to the Alkanet root used to infuse the almond oil with. Although each batch of balms is crafted with precision and aim to make every balm the “same”, the plant infusion strengths will vary based on seasonal growing fluctuations & is somewhat expected when using 100% natural ingredients.

Ingredients: Alkanna tinctoria (alkanet) infused *Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, ***Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, **Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, **Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, *Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, organic flavors, Tocopherols (vitamin e)

Hurraw! Black Cherry Balm (Tinted), 4.3g

Will be reviewing the Black Cherry Balm and the Coffee Bean Balm in this post.. The lip-balms are ‘stored’ in an oval sleek tube ( it doesn’t take up much space in my makeup bag) and it comes with a breakable seal!

‘Break Seal to infuse your dry lips with goodness’!

I have gently swatch-ed both the lip-balms on the back of my hand to show you the tints.

(L) Black Cherry Balm – subtle red sheer tint!

(R) Coffee Bean Balm – Colorless sheer tint!

Black Cherry Balm’s tint

First of all, i’m in love with the ingredients and quality of the lip-balms as it is made with all-natural / organic alternatives. Therefore, i won’t be ingesting potentially harmful ingredients like petroleum and paraben. Upon opening it, both lip-balms smell really great without being too over-powering. The Cherry one has a sweet cherry smell and it doesn’t smell too artificial whereas the coffee one smells like ‘Coffee candy’!

Texture wise – Both lip balms have nice consistencies, creamy and not too waxy which make application a breeze (it will just glides on my lips). After application, my chapped lips feels soft, smooth and hydrated..
The lip balm does not cause stickiness and it adds a soft glossiness to my dull lips. As for the tinted Black Cherry Balm, it gives a healthy sheer red tint on my lips (love the shade as some tinted lip balms will gives a dark weird shade of red/pink).

Both of the lip balms are really long-lasting and will be removed only when i wiped my mouth after eating. Since one layer is enough to keep my lips moist and protected, one tube will last me for a long long time.. 🙂

Better Beauty sg has also told me to choose a nail-polish from Deborah Lippmann.. Celebrity + fashion manicurist, Deborah Lippmann is the founder Deborah Lippmann brand – a luxury nail polishes and hand and foot care company. Made in USA, Deborah Lippmann’s luxury line of award-winning nail polishes was created as a result of her working with some of the most iconic figures in fashion – from Cher to Sarah Jessica Parker, Zac Posen to Rodarte. Her nail products contain no toluene, formaldehyde or DBP, and do not use animal testing.

From the collection, i have chosen a ‘Mint’ cream colored nail polish with speckled black glitter. Known as the Rockin’ Robin, a mint mayhem staccato, this innovative nail polish has a cream mint base and black glitters that offers a wearable soft pastel finish with a little character added.

Infused with Biotin, Green Tea and Aucoumeaa, Deborah Lippmann’s nail polishes are made with quality ingredients which beautify and treat nails upon application. The natural ingredients will help protect, strength and prevent nails from drying.

Deborah Lippmann – Rockin’ Robin Mint mayhem (staccato)

For best results, it is recommended to use a base coat and a top coat together with Rockin’ Robin Mint mayhem (staccato) on dry and clean nails.. Because the polish is highly pigmented, one layer will suffice but i preferred to apply on two layers for a more finished / even look.

Application is made easy as the brush bristles are dense and sturdy to allow even application (moreover, the nail polish is highly pigmented for a nice finish). The nail polish has a moderately thick consistency but it dries very quickly and goes on well. The unique mix (mint shade and specks of black glitters) reminds me of Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream and after application, the highly visible black glitters gave my nails a modern, sweet and fun look!
