My Skin Journey With Annabelle Skin |Part Two

Hello, it’s me again and i’m back with a short update on my skin condition. As i’m TTC-ing (Sad to say that there’s no good news yet), i have decided to switch to facial treatments for the time being.  As mentioned last month, i have signed up a package at Annabelle Skin because my skin improved tremendously after only 1 treatment. Located @ The Adelphi, Annabelle Skin aims to serve as the trusted skin and body care companion to its clients as they go through different stages in life by providing quality treatments, effective results and personalized service. Annabelle Skin strongly believes that everyone’s skin condition is unique. Each skin and body treatment will be customized accordingly with the combination of skillful manual methods with advanced scientific beauty technology, using high quality products made with natural ingredients from Europe to produce the best and most effective results.

Every facial treatment will first begin with a skin analysis that the team can access the current condition of your skin. After which, the beautician will customize a treatment for you.. First treatment, my skin was very highly irritated, sensitive, red and congested. During my 2nd treatment, Mandy (my beautician) discovered that my skin was badly dehydrated (Although less sensitive & congested). She told me that i will still be getting facial treatment done to address sensitivity and she will use more hydrating products on my skin. Hence, i have to stress that customized treatments in accordance to skin condition will help address and target problem areas better! Mandy told me that she will be doing the same Physio Marine (For Sensitive Blemish Skin) and Photolight 660 Treatment.. However, she will use a new ampoule and mask during the treatment.

Every treatment, i will always be looking forward to lie on the comfy bed as it has a heater! haha~ If you are curious about the Physio Marine Treatment, this facial treatment provides intense repair for sensitive skin with blemishes with hydrating and firming results. It is suitable for sensitive and combination skin, easily irritable skin condition which causes breakouts.

The Physio Marine Treatment started off with Cleansing. As i did not have any makeup on, Mandy went straight into normal skin cleansing with the use of Sensi-Bel Delicate Cleanser followed by Sensi-Bel Delicate Tonic to remove remaining residues.

The first step towards caring for delicate skin is calming the over- reacted skin with a gentle cleanser. Sensi-Bel Delicate Cleanser is naturally coloured, soap-free gel, mild but effective in cleansing. It ensures skin calming and protection even during the cleansing process with the beneficial effects of panthenol and extract of liquorice root, oak bark, green tea and echinacea.

Sensi-Bel Delicate Tonic is a gentle and refreshing facial tonic that normalises the pH-value of the skin, calming and protecting. This honey-yellow, mild refresher tonic reduces skin irritations and makes the skin surface less susceptible to attack by irritants, enriched with NMF, factors, allantoin, extract of echinacea, aloe vera, witch hazel and oak bark.

Next step is to exfoliate to get rid of impurities and dead skin cell. For sensitive and delicate skin, the use of scrub is not recommended. Instead, deep cleansing mask is applied on to clarify skin and left on for 15 mins under cold steam to keep skin moist and soothed.

After removing the mask, came the most dreaded part – Extraction! :/ Over at Annabelle Skin, they do not promote squeezing to decongest pores. Extraction is done using a special extraction tool from Switzerland together with special technique to remove blackheads & clogged sebum. As a result, it is not as painful as compared to conventional extraction. Redness will also be minimized~ In the past, normal extraction would cause so much redness on my skin and it would take at least a day to go away. With the special extraction technique at Annabelle Skin, redness will be gone within a few hours. During the extraction, Mandy mentioned once again that my skin congestion has reduced (YAY!)

After extraction, Mandy sterilized my skin before applying Intensa Ampoule on my skin.  This time, she used AMPOULE No. 7 ALOE VERA CONCENTRATE which is suitable for delicate, acne skin.  The calming, protective and balanced properties of “lily of the dessert” extract are captured in this product to pamper and benefit particularly tender, sensitive or damaged skin. The aloe vera extract will stimulate epithelium growth while it also has slightly astringent, emollient, promotes granulation, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, scar repairing abilities.  This ampoule does not sting and it has an instant soothing effect after application…

While waiting for ampoule to be fully absorbed, Mandy proceeded with Intensive treatment with Photolight 660 (which happened to be my favorite step!). Originating from Biogenie France, the development of Photolight 660 is based on several years of research in cosmetology on the optimal treatment of skins after damages due to the sun and to ageing. It is a non-invasive and athermic technique which uses a very specific light wave’s length of 660 nanometres that stimulates the production of collagen on fibroblasts. Photolight 660 was used on my skin to help improve the skin tone evenness, diminishes red blotches and to aid with skin healing. Mandy also made use of another light wave on my jawline area to help achieve a sharper face! 🙂

As my skin is dehydrated, Mandy used a different mask this time~ A single application face mask infused with bioMatrix made of collagen fibres & Aloe Vera was used. This mask will treat irritations and provide intensive repair treatment making it suitable for damaged, irritated skin

Main Ingredients & Benefits:

bio Matrix – strong anti irritant, soothing effects, intense moisturization, maxiumum smoothing action, promote cell regeneration, reduce redness

Aloe Vera – Supports repair processes, reduce redness & strong sooting action

The mask comes in a slighter smaller than A4 size sheet and Mandy had to cut an opening (if not i cannot breathe. LOL!). The mask does not contain perfume, preservatives or bonding agents thus making it very suitable for sensitive / delicate skin. Upon application, the instant soothing and cooling sensation appeared! Very relaxing and i dozed off at that very moment.

After the mask was removed,Mandy applied one interesting sunblock onto my skin (as i was complaining to her that many sunblocks in the market tend to be really heavy). What’s so interesting is that the sunblock actually has a serum-like texture and there’s no need to use a makeup remover to remove! Known as the Dr Belter Sun Protection (SPF 30) Face Elixir, this newly launched sunblock consists of protective concentrate for the face protects the sensitive skin from sunburn and other harmful effects of the sun. The formula uses biological cell protection complexes, such as Ectoin®, a special DNA shield from the plant cassia alata to prevent sun-induced skin aging and the formation of hyperpigmentation. I have purchased the sunblock after the facial session and review is coming up soon so stay tune. 🙂

This picture is taken immediately after the removal of the mask.. You can compare it with this photo (Taken after a facial few years ago) to see the difference between traditional extraction and special extraction.

Immediately After Facial:  Skin redness has went down. Texture of Skin has became softer and smoother. Overall Skin Tone has improved in terms of brightness and clarity. Skin is less tight and there’s an after facial glow (my mum was asking what i did to my face. LOL!)

1-2 days after Facial: This time round, i have some purging from skin impurities deeply embedded within those big pimples were being pushed to the surface. Mandy has warned me about it so i was prepared for it. Took extra care in applying pimple gel to dry it up. Despite the minor purging, skin still feels smooth to the touch and sensitivity has reduced. Skin tone has improved significantly in radiance / evenness and skin does not feel as oily.

One week after Facial: The breakouts due to purging healed relatively fast. Oil secretion has reduced. Skin is less bumpy, more radiant and it still remains healthy with reduced breakouts and clogged pores (due to the reduction in oil secretion).  Skin texture isn’t so blotchy looking due to lesser bumps and reduced skin sensitivity. Most important of all, i’ve stopped getting those small pimples filled with pus (Yay!)..
