Double Cleansing with L’Oréal Paris Micellar Water!

Let’s talk about double cleansing today! After a longgg day at work, double cleansing is something which i cannot do without in order to achieve clean skin~ Basically, double cleansing is washing my face twice – first with a makeup remover and then facial wash. Staring the routine with makeup remover to remove the initial layer of dirt dust, sebum and dead skin cells from pores will actually allow your facial wash to penetrate better into pores and do its job more effectively. However if you have sensitive skin like mine, double cleansing might be a double-edged sword but the key is to use an effective makeup remover that stays gentle on skin. My preferred type of makeup remover will be Micellar Water.

Do you know that Micellar Water originated from Paris in the 1990s? Micellar Waters were first developed to combat the harsh effects that the city’s hard water had on their skin. Since then, micellar waters have become a beauty staple in the routines of French women and have easily become a favorite for makeup artists all over the world.

Currently, i’m using the L’Oréal Paris Micellar Water as part of my double cleanse process. What i love most about this Micellar Water is that it removes waterproof makeup in 3 seconds and yet moisturize and hydrate skin at the same time. Suitable for even sensitive skin and areas like the eyes, this Michellar water contains no oil, no fragrance and no alcohol. It is also dermatologically tested, so people with sensitive skin are able to use it without fear of aggravating their skin.

L’Oréal Paris Micellar Water – Bi-Phase, French Mountain Water, French Rose Extract (L to R)

The L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water is the new breakthrough product which will remove the toughest makeup in 3 seconds.

Bi-Phase Micellar Technology

The new L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water has two layers that enable the removal of all types of makeup, even waterproof makeup.

(1) Micellar layer: This layer is made up of tiny micelle particles suspended in soft water. These tiny particles cluster together to capture dirt, oil, makeup and other impurities without drying out your skin. Acting like a magnet, impurities are lifted off your skin, leaving it thoroughly cleansed with no additional rinsing required. The effectiveness of these breakthrough micellar molecules guarantees a gentle cleanse that requires no harsh rubbing even for heavy makeup!

(2) Cleansing layer: This unique formula specifically removes waterproof makeup whilst hydrating and moisturizing the skin. The best part is there is no presence of “nasties” in the formula – no oil, fragrance or alcohol – to irritate even the most sensitive of skin types.

For light makeup days, there are two other micellar waters in their range, which are equally gentle and hydrating on skin.

I have put the L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water to the test on a daily basis for the past few days. Normally, i will apply very minimal makeup as shown in the picture below (Tinted Moisturizer, Sunblock, lip balm and long-lasting lipstick). The only long-lasting makeup product that i will use on a daily basis will be lipstick because i’m lazy to reapply it 😛

It is important to shake the L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water to mix the 2 layers together before pouring onto a cotton pad. To dislodge makeup, gently wipe in a circular motion.. As you can see from the picture below, i have applied tinted moisturizer and a few different types of long-lasting lipsticks on my hand. The tinted moisturizer was wiped off completely with just a few wipes. For the long-lasting lipsticks, i just have to hold the cotton pad against it for a few seconds and off it disappear with just a few gentle wipes. Definitely 5 stars for its cleansing abilities!

Besides the excellent cleansing abilities, L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water does not contain any fragrance and won’t sting while using it! Texture wise, it is watery and non-greasy. What i love about the Michellar Water is that it has a gentle formula as it doesn’t sting. After using, it leaves my skin refreshed, soothed and hydrated! There’s no tight sensation and no form of redness / irritation. Photo below was taken after using the Micellar water, definitely no redness but clean skin 🙂

The new L’Oréal Paris Bi-Phase Micellar Water retails for $22.90, and is available at all leading Watsons, Guardian, Unity stores and major super/ hyper markets.
