It has been 9 months since i have delivered Jane and i have been struggling with my weight gain.. During pregnancy, i have gained a total of 16kg and till date i have only managed to shed 12kg.. Most of my weight gain is on my tummy & hips area – ‘upgraded’ from UK size 8 to UK size 10!! Certainly not a pleasant feeling and i was feeling really depressed at one period. However, i have learnt to embrace my battle scars from pregnancy and decided to take the first step to shed the excess fats. Besides watching my diet, i have also decided to put a stop to my sedentary lifestyles with little exercise and shed stubborn flabbiness for slimmer body, improved body definition and shape.

Two weeks ago, i’ve attended Watsons First-Ever Girls Day Out at Serangoon Nex. Was excited & happy to see some of my blogger friends after so long! My colleague has tried it out and she told me that she find the texture of the day cream to be thick and a little on the heavy side. However, it does not leave her dry skin oily but instead her skin felt very moisturized, plump and smooth after use. As it contains SPF 15, she can skip the use of her sunblock which is really convenient when she’s rushing for time in the morning.

Was given the 24K Bio-Gold Skin Radiance Cleanser in my goodie bag and this cleanser is uniquely rich in 24K Bio-Gold, Bio Mineral Amino Acid and herbal extracts which cleanses and revitalizes skin. Rich in anti-oxidant, this cleanser also helps skin fight against free radicals. The cleansing foam comes with shimmery gold flakes and it is really ‘luxuriously pretty’! As ‘rich’ (Pun intended) as it sounds, the cleanser will work into a rich creamy foam and it cleanses well without leaving behind a tight sensation after use.  There’s fragrance but it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Will highly recommend this effective yet affordable cleanser!

Hada Labo (Relaunched Product)

The other day i was testing this moisturizer before using my CC cream as i was attracted to it ‘blurring effect’. As you know, CC cream has no coverage and i need some help to minimize pores and imperfections without having to use foundation (Just wish to let my skin breath as i had some jawline breakouts recently).. The Revitalift Magic Blur moisturizer has a non-greasy mousse-cream texture (although quite thick IMO) and it gets absorbed easily without any heavy after feel. Instantly, my skin feels and looks smoother & fresh. The instant results were lovely but I can’t comment much on the anti-ageing aspect.

So delighted to see the Kustie Chamomile Shower & Bath Gel in my goodie bag and tried it almost immediately. I love how delicate it smells with the sweet tinge of chamomile with carefully handpicked natural petals inside.. Such a pretty sight~ The Chamomile shower & bath gel has a natural plant formula with Chamomile essential oil and natural nutrients to soothe and restore skin. The shower gel has a concentrated texture so a little goes a longgg way! Each time, i will only have to squeeze out a 50 cent size amount and it will foam up ‘abundantly’. It is really easy to rinse the foam off (The petals will get wash off easily too) and it leave my skin feeling clean, soft and smelling nice!

Been looking for a deep cleansing shampoo as i have oily scalp. I have been advised to use deep cleansing shampoo to prevent scalp issues which will lead to HAIR LOSS! A good indicator when a shampoo isn’t suitable for me, my scalp will itchy during the day but after using the BENÉ Premium Bluria Delicious SPA Shampoo, my scalp did not itch! Have passed the OleoTherapy Shampoo to my husband for review as he has colored hair which is dry. He told me that the shampoo has a thick glue texture and he has to lather it up with water first before he can spread it evenly on his hair. Although the shampoo is sulfate free, it will work into a decent amount of lather. My husband felt that the shampoo is very nourishing and it leaves his hair soft but not oily. It also has a gentle formula that works for his sensitive scalp.

(Event) GEOX 2014 Spring/Summer Collection Preview

Before the Chinese New Year break, i was invited to the GEOX 2014 Spring/Summer Collection preview session. For people who are new to this brand, allow me to do a short introduction:

Geox, being one of the main players in the Italian and international footwear and apparel market actively creates, produces, promotes and distributes footwear. GEOX is well-known for its invention of the “shoe that breathes”- the patented technology of small holes in the sole of the shoe which allows air out, but serves as a barrier to water from the outside. This exclusive innovative technology is used in the manufacturing and designing of all GEOX footwear*. As suchGEOX has created a cult-like following in more than 100 countries with its breathable technology and stylish Italian design.

*At the heart of GEOX technology is this invention of a microporous membrane that acts like a second skin.  When placed inside the GEOX perforated rubber sole, the membrane manages sweat and heat, allowing humidity to be evaporated, keeping water out and feet dry. Each membrane pore is big enough to allow  sweat vapour (which is 700 times smaller than a water droplet) through, but prevents water entering the sole. Both waterproof and breathable, GEOX’s revolutionary technology provides comfort and wellbeing by constantly eliminating moisture and preventing odours that typically develop when shoes don’t ventilate, recreating an ideal microclimate inside the shoe to keep feet cool and dry in the summer, and warm and dry in the winter.

Geox group’s innovation is protected by a total of over 60 different patents registered in Italy and extended at international level. As for shoes and apparel, here’s some of the examples:

Rubber patent

The first rubber patent was developed in the footwear sector to solve the problem of feet perspiration in rubber soles. Geox exclusive solution consists of three different parts: a perforated inferior part (the outsole), a superior perforated part (the mid-sole) and a third part placed between the outsole and the mid-sole defined in the patent as “membrane permeable to vapour but waterproof”. The combination of the membrane characterized by selective pores, with holes on the outsole and foot-strap, allows vapour to move out, preventing water to enter.

Leather patent

The objective of the leather patent was to develop an innovative technology aimed at rendering the leather sole impermeable without impeding its natural transpiration quality. In this case the Group has applied the abovementioned constructive methodology, by using the membrane in order to waterproof leather soles.

Apparel patent

This patent was created to ease body transpiration and it is mainly used in the shoulder area. The application of this patent consists in the use of a constructive system of the garment based on the creation of a cavity between the fabric and the body: this allows to exploit the natural movement of warm air, letting it raise and exit through the  upper part of the garment.
