(Sponsored Review) Sensitive skin no more with Hada Labo ES range

Hello everyone!! Hope you are coping fine with the haze! So glad that the haze has cleared up a lot today and i can see the blue skies.. However, the PM2.5 reading still high despite the clear blue sky so do try to use a mask whenever you head outdoors! ūüôā

Don’t know about you but my skin has been really sensitive nowadays.. Perhaps it has to do with the haze, increased pollutant and¬†hotter weather, hence my skin is red, itchy and skin irritated!!

Hence, i have to be more selective in my skincare products and incorporate those that do not contain ingredients that can cause irritation to the skin. Better to be safe than sorry, i must steer clear of products that contains alcohol, fragrance, colorant, mineral oil and preservatives!

Searched through my stash of skincare products collection and I’ve decided to use this lotion that Hada Labo has sent me for review few weeks back..

Staying true to its Perfect X Simple philosophy, Hada Labo has carefully put together a remarkable series specially catered to those with sensitive skin –¬†¬†Hada Labo ES range!¬†Hada Labo es series is also pH balanced, anti-allergy and non-stinging to allow skin to enjoy the gentlest care.

In case you are not familiar with this brand,¬†Hada Labo products is produced by Rohto Pharmaceuticals in a pharmaceutical manufacturing¬†environment, under strict Goods Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Therefore, superior product¬†quality, reliability and effectiveness are¬†guaranteed.¬†Hada Labo skincare philosophy is ‚ÄúPERFECT X SIMPLE‚ÄĚ as inspired by traditional Japanese beauty¬†wisdom.. During the formulation of the products, a ‚ÄúNo More No Less‚ÄĚ philosophy is adopted‚Ķ ¬†This means that unnecessary additives such as colorant, fragrance and mineral oil that¬†will burden the skin are omitted. Only the best, beneficial and essential ingredients are added¬†to ensure maximum¬†effectiveness that‚Äôs best for the skin.

The ES range is not just formulated using 5 additive-free ingredients but it also contains Hada Labo’s signature ingredient – Hyaluronic Acid! Furthermore, the ES products are enhanced with Zinc which functions in three ways: penetrate, hydrate and repair.

1) It contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid (normal, super, nano) to completely hydrate all 3 layers of skin for superior softness. The Brand’s signature ingredient –¬†Nano Hyaluronic Acid has fine molecules and will able to penetrate deep into the inner layers of stratum corneum for deep hydration and to retain moisture in the skin.¬†Overtime, skin will become remarkably smooth, soft and supple.

2) Zinc has restorative properties to control and soothe skin inflammation as well as reduce skin irritations. Hence, skin’s health will improve as Zinc nourishes, condition and protects the sensitive skin from the harsh environment.

Hada Labo ES range consists of the following products which is specially designed for hydrating and nourishing sensitive skin:

1) ES Cleansing Foam Wash (160ml)

With a light and foamy texture, it gently cleanses the skin while restoring the skin’s moisture at the same time.

2) ES Lotion (170ml)

This lotion will instantly replenishes and locks-in skin’s natural moisture.  Great for dry and dehydrated skin,  skin will feel significantly softer and more supple upon application.

3) ES Milk (140ml)

Lightweight and soft moisturizer with a non-sticky feel.

4) ES Cream (50g)

Soft and has a richer texture as compared to the Milk, it gives a longer lasting deep hydration without stickiness.

Will be reviewing the¬†ES Lotion (170ml) in this post.. ūüôā

– It contains Nano Zinc Hyaluronic Acid to effectively moisturize skin and keep skin healthy.
– Instantly replenishes and lock in moisture for complete hydration
– Improves dry and dehydrated skin, leaving skin soft and supple

For those that are interested in the ingredients list, here you go..

Personally, i will use this lotion after toner so that remaining residue on my face can be removed thoroughly before applying the ES lotion.. I will pour 3-4 drops on palms, warm it using my palms and gently pat until thoroughly absorbed. After which, i will apply my serum and moisturizer.

Texture wise, it feels like the SHA Lotion – Fragrance free, Alcohol free,¬†watery, light weighted and gets absorbed into my skin really fast without stickiness.¬†After application, it doesn’t weight my skin down and it does not¬†cause my sensitive skin turn reddish after application.. Once it gets absorbed, my skin feels really refreshed, soft and smooth to the touch..

Because i love the benefits of the ES Lotion so much, I’m using it to create my own DIY mask to intensely hydrates my skin after exfoliating. Just pour few drops of ES lotion into a clean container and put in a compressed mask (You can purchase it from SASA).. Once it gets absorbed with the ES lotion, fit the mask onto your face and leave it on for 15 mins (There’s no need to rinse your skin after application).

Since the lotion is as gentle as water, it doesn’t sting when my mask.. After removing the mask, skin feels hydrated and looks calmer (with reduced redness / tightness).. As texture that is light, it does not leave any non-sticky film behind..

Overall after incorporating this product in my skincare routine, i have observed that my skin is less irritated with reduced redness and itchiness. Yay!

Will highly recommend the ES range if you have sensitive skin and dehydrated (like moi!) and will like to nourishes, condition and protects it from the harsh environment.

The Hada Labo ES Series is available exclusively at Guardian pharmacies nationwide and you can check out Hada Labo’s FB page for more products update! ūüôā

Arbuntin- Extracted from natural bearberry plant, this ingredient has effective whitening properties which enhance skin fairness and helps fight dark spots. With regular use, dull skin will be renewed to reveal clearer and fairer skin.

Vitamin C – It¬†enhances skin’s fairness and repairs dry, dull skin caused by exposure to UV rays.

Like the other product ranges in the Hada Labo’s family, the Hada Labo’s whitening range stays true to its ‚ÄúNo More, No Less‚ÄĚ philosophy.. Due to the sensitivity of my skin, i cannot subject it to any whitening products as it will be too harsh for my skin… Hence, i’ve to test the product on my hands this time as i don’t wish to¬†take any chances in case my skin will flare up (I’m really sorry about it as my wedding photoshoot is next month so i have to keep my skin in tip-top condition)…

Texture of the lotion is watery and non-sticky.. Upon contact with the skin on my hand, it gets absorbed fast without any oily / greasy after-feel.¬†As you can see from the picture below, the skin on my hand is rather dry, patchy and it seems dull…

After one drop of the whitening lotion on my hand and patting it in, you can see that the skin turned brighter and more even.. It is also more hydrated and it looks much smoother (Please note that i did not edit the before and after photos so you can judge the differences it made on my skin).

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Moisturizing Eye Cream & SHA Hydrating Lotion with new Nano Formula

Hello everyone! Been really busy nowadays with work (as it is Quarter end), wedding preparations (venue sourcing, site¬†visits¬†etc) and Misc matters (Church,¬†gathering¬†etc) that i cannot find a proper time to sit down and blog.. 24 hours is never enough to strike a ‘work, life and blog’ balance but i’ll try my best.. ūüė¶

Alright! Back to the objective of this post, i will like to share two new products with you!

Hada Labo has recently launched two new products –¬†the Hada Labo SHA Moisturizing Eye Cream and the reformulated Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion¬†with new Nano Formula.

Hada Labo¬†has to be my favorite drugstore brand as many of their products are effective and pocket friendly… In case you are not familiar with this brand,¬†Hada Labo products¬†produced by Rohto Pharmaceuticals in a pharmaceutical manufacturing¬†environment, under strict Goods Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Therefore, superior product¬†quality, reliability and effectiveness are¬†guaranteed.¬†Hada Labo skincare philosophy is ‚ÄúPERFECT X SIMPLE‚ÄĚ as inspired by traditional Japanese beauty¬†wisdom.. During the formulation of the products, a ‚ÄúNo More No Less‚ÄĚ philosophy is adopted… ¬†This means that unnecessary additives such as colorant, fragrance and mineral oil that¬†will burden the skin are omitted. Only the best, beneficial and essential ingredients are added¬†to ensure maximum¬†effectiveness that’s best for the skin.

First product that i will touch on will be the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Moisturizing Eye Cream.. Our eyes are often the first tell-sign of our age and well-being so extra care must be taken to pamper our delicate eye area.. Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Moisturizing Eye Creamholds the key to unlock younger looking eyes with regular application.

The Hydrating product range is Hada Labo’s best selling range with many consumers pleased about the performance of this range as it brings about¬†instant hydration power… Now it introduces a new cream dedicated for the thinner skin around the eyes with a combination of 3 Types of Hyaluronic Acid for 3X the Hydration Power..

Just like all Hada Labo products, this eye cream is SIMPLE: pH balanced with no animal derivatives, fragrance, mineral oil, alcohol nor colorant. It is gentle enough even for sensitive skin.
To reveal younger looking eyes by reducing dark circles, fine lines and puffiness, it contains effective ingredients like:
1) 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid (Super, Nano, Normal) for thorough and deep moisturization
2) ACTIFLOW ingredient increases blood circulation, lightens dark circles and puffiness
3) Jojoba Oil smoothens fine lines around eye area..

The eye cream comes in a pump packaging which i adore as it makes application a breeze… Each bottle contains 15g of eye cream and i will dispense 1.5 pumps of the eye cream for both eyes… ¬†Personally, i find 2 pumps a little too rich for my eyes as there’s a sticky film left behind (which i have to use tissue to dat it off)..¬†Be careful not to over apply eye products on your eyes as you don’t want to end up with milia seeds so 1.5 pumps will be sufficient to care for skin around the eye area.

The eye cream is creamy base and upon application, it turns into a watery texture and can be massaged easily into the skin around the eye area.. No fragrance is detected so you need not worry that it will irritate the delicate skin on your eye area.

If you use the right amount (for me, it’s 1.5 pumps), the eye cream gets¬†absorbed¬†easily into the skin.. After application, the skin on my eye area stays matt and smooth… The eye cream is light-weighted and it doesn’t leave behind a greasy after-feel.. After applying it for a week, the skin on my under-eyes seems more supple and smooth.. Together with the eye massage and the¬†application¬†of eye cream two times daily, my eyes are not as puffy as before..¬†As for the lightening of dark eye circles, i cannot comment much for now as i’m currently not getting enough sleep..

Retailing all Watsons nationwide at $21.90, i’ll recommend this affordable eye cream to anyone who wants to have alert and younger looking eyes.

Next up!! It’s time to touch on the¬†SHA Hydrating Lotion (with new Nano Formula)..¬†
Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion is the bestseller in the hydration series and it is a smoothing Lotion.. Now it has an improved version and ever since its launch in Japan, 1 bottle is sold every 2 seconds in Japan..

In Singapore, it is voted as the ‘Beat Beauty Buy’ in Woman’s Weekly 2011 Beauty catergory.

I’m sure you have seen this advertisement on TV and many of my friends are raving about this product too..

Right now, the¬†Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion¬†has a new ‘Nano’ formula that will penetrates into skin deeper to provide better hydration… The former¬†Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion already has superb hydrating power and with the new Nano Super Hyaluronic acid, there will be full and¬†thorough hydration from skin surface to deep within.

The new ‚Äėnano‚Äô hyaluronic acid molecule is able to penetrate deeper within the skin as it is only 1/20 the size¬†of the normal hyaluronic acid‚Äôs. This enables¬†penetration to areas deep within the skin. Beside this, it contains two other hyaluronic acid know as the ‚ÄėNormal‚Äô and ‚ÄėSuper‚Äô which helps hydrate¬†skin closer to the surface.

With a superior combination of all three hyaluronic acid (Nano, Super, Normal), Hada Labo Hydrating range can give skin a deeper and fuller hydration.
It is recommended to pour two to three drops of Hydrating Lotion¬†on the palm and gently pat onto skin until the lotion is¬†thoroughly absorbed. Because i have really sensitive skin, i’m only using the lotion at night as i’m afraid it might be too rich for my skin.. I skipped the use of my toner at night and replace it with the Hydrating lotion before applying my¬†moisturizer.. Instead of pouring it onto my palm and patting it into my skin, i prefer to use a cotton pad to swipe the lotion on.. Lotion does not have any¬†fragrance and alcohol¬†so it did not cause my sensitive skin turn reddish after application.. Lotion is watery and light weighted so i gets absorbed into my skin really fast.. After which, my skin feels really soft and smooth to the touch.. i like~!!!
Retailing at $22.90 for 170ml, The Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion with new Nano Formula is highly recommended for people who needs a product that is gentle and yet provide the skin with extra hydration boost…

My readers, now you can go to the Hada Labo’s facebook page to redeem your own sample of the Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion.

Hope everyone have a good week ahead and stay tune for my blog post on Krabi..¬†ūüôā

(Sponsored Review) 3-in-1 Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF 50PA+++!!

It’s about one more month to my Krabi getaway trip!!!

It’s all about the sun, sea, beautiful beaches, water sports and a relaxing lifestyle..
One bad point, May is a dry season¬†so it’s gonna be HOT!!!

Since I‚Äôm fair, I‚Äôll get burnt very easily so i’ll need a trusty sun block that helps to protect my face, neck and face…

Last week, i received an invitation to try the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50PA+++; since this UV milk offers high sun protection while caring for the skin, i’m most glad to review it! ūüôā

This multi-purpose UV milk has 3-in-1 Protection benefits:

1) UV-Protection
2) Hydration
3) Make-Up Base

1) UV-Protection

As it contains high protection of SPF50PA+++, It will allow high, broad-spectrum protection against harmful UVA and UVB.

2) Hydration

Like other products in Hada Labo’s different product lines, Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF
50 PA+++ penetrates deeply into the skin to moisturize the skin with three types of Hyaluronic Acid. At the same time, it locks in moisture for soft, supple and radiant skin for a long lasting moisturizing effect.

3) Make-Up Base

To finish off, the UV milk acts as a Make-Up Base to allow cosmetics to glide on easily for a smoother and long-lasting application.

The different ingredients used FYI ūüôā

As you can see, the UV milk is gentle on skin ,as it free of artificial ingredients such fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant so it will be gentle on skin. This UV milk also keeps the skin‚Äôs pH balanced and is rigorously tested for low skin irritation¬†so it won’t burden the skin. The formula is also light and water-like and is quickly absorbed without¬†stickiness /¬†white residues left behind.

Good for all skin type, it is suitable for daily usage on the face, neck and body.

My humble review

Someone once told me that the maximum protection for a sunblock product is SPF 50 and the higher the SPF, the oilier the sun-block will get. I’m glad that this sunblock has the max SPF protection which has PA+++ protection against broad-spectrum UVA and UVB rays..

Since it has hydrating effect, it helps to soothe my sensitive skin… Texture is watery and it gets absorbed easily without a greasy after-feel… No fragrance is detected so no worries that it will irritate my sensitive skin… However, the UV milk isn’t waterproof as it can be rubbed off easily… Since I‚Äôll subject myself to sea-water, rough water activities and tons of sweat, the UV milk won’t maintain its¬†effects for long so it¬†can be a hassle to keep reapplying it after sweating / swimming.. Worst of all, i don’t want it to run and gets into my eyes¬†due to¬†excessive sweat… I’ll see what i can do about it.. ūüôā This UV milk doesn’t leave behind a white cast / residue so it also acts like a perfect make up base. Thumbs up!

Will recommend it if you want an affordable sun block that’s good enough for normal daily use.. The Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF 50PA+++ is¬† available in a 38ml bottle, priced at S$19.90 and exclusively sold in Watsons.

Till then! Have a nice week everyone! ūüôā

(Sponsored Review) Say Bye-Bye to Panda eyes and Make-up residue – Hada Labo Cleansing Oil

After 8 months battle with all the awful acne, i can finally say good-bye to my medication..

No more dry lips and skin….
Although my skin is much clearer and smoother now, i cannot take things for granted..
Daily skin maintenance is very important to prevent my nightmare from coming back!!
As i have to pile on make-up on a daily basis, proper removal of make-up is a MUST in order to allow my skin to breathe…
Not only that, i must ensure that there’s no make-up residue left behind to prevent any dirt from accumulating in my pores….

Thanks to Thesamplestore and Hada Labo, i’m now making the first step to better skin maintenance..

Introducing the all new New Hada Labo Cleansing Oil with High Purity Oliver Oil

Its gentle formula with no unnecessary additives (No fragrance, color, oil, alcohol) has Superior Cleansing abilities with Ultra Pure Oil which removes all water-proof make up.

If you wish to remove lighter make up or don’t like oil cleanser, Hada labo also has another hydrating make-up removal which is water-based. It contains two types of Hyaluronic Acid, normal and Super Hyalronic Acid to hydrates and cleanse.

Let’s put it to the test!!!

Pump it once.

Applying the cleansing oil only on one side of my face (left side)
(i need a clean hand to take the pictures. haha)

Massaging the cleansing oil on the left side of my face

Allow Emulsion in order to further melt away your make-up residue

Tadah!! Clean skin!~
(Argghh! My untidy brows!)

My Verdict

As compared to other oil cleanser that i have tried, this oil cleanser doesn’t feel as oily and it is fragrance free…
One pump is sufficient to remove all the make-up on one side of my face.. Texture wise – it is not too runny so you will have cleansing oil dripping all over your hands… My eye-make up are mostly water-proof as i have very oily eyelids but this oil cleanser melts it away effortlessly.. Some cleansing oil will give me panda eyes as my eyeliner / mascara are not removed thoroughly (despite intensive rubbing) -_-

Best of all, there’s no oily film left behind and my skin really feels soft after usage. No sight of adverse reactions (Note: clogged pores and pimples) after using it for 2-3 times…

Where to Buy?

The Hada Labo Hydrating cleansing oil is priced at $29.90 and will be available at Watson (Exclusively) from 1st November onwards.

The Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Make-up remover is priced at $17.90 and will be available at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and other major departmental stores
