‘Revisiting’ my Skincare Routine. Let’s go!!

It has been about 6 months since i last blogged about my skincare routine and because there are new additions in my skincare routine, i’ll like to share more about it.. 🙂

After going for regular facial (once every month) and religiously applying my skincare products, I’m happy with the condition of my skin.. It doesn’t clog so easily, is less oily and it is less sensitive.. I’m still suffering from jawline breakouts when approaching the time of the month but despite of this, I’m pretty contented with the improvements.. Currently still thinking of ways to remove the post-acne / pimples marks, recommendations anyone? 🙂

The photo below is taken in January with minimal make-up on (Tinted pimple cream, Mineral loose powder, blusher, eyeliner , eye-shadow and lip-gloss).. I don’t have to conceal much nowadays with my trusty MAC concealer as my skin looks so much clearer.. At a recent event, Joyce told me that my skin has shown a lot of improvements and I’m really pleased to hear that! 🙂

Step One: Cleansing

I’m still using the Babor Bi-Phase cleansing set which consists of HY-Ol and Phytoactive… I love the texture of the cleansing oil (not heavy nor oily) and together with Phytoactive, it cleanse my skin well and removes all make-up without drying my skin.. It also doesn’t sting my eyes when i use the cleansing oil + Phytoactive on my eyes! You can read more about the 2 products here

Step Two: Calming my skin with Cool Massage Roller

I have creased the use of the massage roller daily due to laziness.. haha! I’ll only use it when i have jawline breakouts as it will help to calm the ‘angry-ness’ down (My beautician also told me that acne will ‘soften’ heal faster if you massage it regularly).. You can read more about the roller here

Step Three: Cleansing and Toning of Skin

Babor’s Rose Toning Lotion has to be the best toner ever and i cannot live without it.. Not only it doesn’t contains alcohol, it smells heavenly as well! The toner is gentle on skin but yet it helps to remove remaining residues on my skin after cleansing.. After applying the toner, skin feels clean, soft and looks more supple!

You can read more about the toner here

Step Four: Serum on T-Zone and Problematic areas (NEW)

As part of my anti-aging routine, i have included the use of L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Renewing Anti-Aging Serum to refine pores, wrinkles and to firm my skin… After using this, i realised that the skin on my T-zone (Especially my nose) seems more refined (lesser blackheads) and smoother…

On my jawline, i will apply a thin layer of Neogence’s Extremely Off-Heads Serum to purify my skin, remove dead skin cells and draw out impurities and white head.. With this product, it helps to sooth my skin and my pimples will heal faster.

Step Five: Moisturize and Hydrates! (NEW)

I have replaced Babor Pure Daily Purifying Cream with Babor Pure Select Purifying Anti-Aging Lotion as i want to incorporate more anti-aging products into my skincare regime. This lotion has anti-aging formula while it also helps to combat impurities at the same time.. Suitable for all skin type, this lotion will work around the clock to hydrate skin, reduce sebum production while improving elasticity and firming the skin tissue. It contains zinc salt, aloe vera, magnolia extract, rich starch and Enantia Chlorantha Bark extract to give radiant and youthful-looking complexion..

The lotion has a light and watery texture which gets absorbed into the skin fast without any sticky aftermath… Like the pump bottle as it makes application more hygiene… When compared to the purifying cream,  i find that it hydrates my skin better and it keeps my skin matt longer.. Like the purifying cream, it helps to treat my pimple and reduces sensitivity boils…

Step Six: Zap those spots away and cover up!

During the day, i will use Babor Tinted Pimple Cream on those occasional spots to conceal and to treat it! At night, i will use LMS Spotlights 24 to speed up the healing process of my pimples and to reduce the inflammation. You can read more about the LMS spotslights and Tinted Pimple Cream here

Step Seven: Sunblock to protect your skin during the day (NEW)

Previously, i was sponsored with Hada labo’s UV moist emulsion which i have finished using… Recommended it to one of my gf and we both agreed that texture is light and non-greasy.. However, i did not repurchase it as i have always love to explore other sunblock… Currently using Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence which is the top-selling sunscreen in Japan.. Thanks to Biore and EK Media for sending me this gem!

Decided to review the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence because the product looks very promising as it stated to have high SPF protection coverage and yet it feels nothing on skin after application.

The secret behind lies with the Biore breakthrough technology whereby the UV ingredients are contained within the Aqua Micro Capsule to provide SPF50/PA+++ protection while keeping skin cool and refreshed. As such, this water rich UV essence stays light and weightless on skin when applied on.. Unlike regular sunscreens, it won’t leave behind a heavy and greasy after feel and it gets absorbed instantly…

You can say that this UV essence has 2-in-1 benefits as it provide protection against harmful UV rays and at the same time it hydrates the skin..

Benefit 1: It has good and long-lasting High SPF and PA+++ protection against skin-aging UVA rays and skin-burning UVB rays..

Benefit 2: It contains hyaluronic acid and Citrus extract (Extract of orange, grapefruit and lemon) to keep skin hydrated, soft and healthy.

Despite being a sunscreen with high SPF, texture is light and refreshing (like water). Upon skin contact, the unique aqua micro capsule will release moisture, leaving your skin protected, refreshed and hydrated. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive ones as formula is gentle and allergy tested.

The ingredient list if anyone is interested in it.. Because it contains fruit extract, the UV essence has a mild citrus fruity scent!

The UV essence has white gel-based texture and upon spreading it, the UV essence turns watery.. If you look at the picture below carefully, you can actually see tiny water droplets.. It gets absorbed into my skin very fast without any form of stickiness  / oiliness.

No shiny screen / white cast after application!

Purposely applied the UV essence on only one side of my face so that you can see whether if any white cast is left behind..

Boo! I hate my post pimple marks!

But NO! You cannot see any! Because of the watery texture upon skin’s contact, it just feels as if i am applying moisturizer instead of sun-screen.. Although this UV essence is hydrating, do remember to guard your skin with moisturizer before applying sunscreen… I am able to spread the UV essence easily and it gets absorbed into my skin very fast without leaving behind a heavy feeling (which many of the regular sunscreens will).. Another plus point will be that it leaves my skin matt and refreshed without weighting it down.. The UV essence has a slight citrus scent and a cooling sensation when applying it which serves as a quick perk me up in the morning, i like!! 🙂

Will recommend this if you are looking for a sunscreen with high SPF but yet feels like nothing on skin… The UV essence is only available in one size (50ml) and retailing @ $18.90 at selected supermarkets, hypermarkets and pharmacies.

That’s all about my daily skincare routine and hope you have enjoy reading it.. Will be sharing more on my twice weekly ‘masking’ routine  so do stay tune!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

(Sponsored Review) 3-in-1 Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF 50PA+++!!

It’s about one more month to my Krabi getaway trip!!!

It’s all about the sun, sea, beautiful beaches, water sports and a relaxing lifestyle..
One bad point, May is a dry season so it’s gonna be HOT!!!

Since I’m fair, I’ll get burnt very easily so i’ll need a trusty sun block that helps to protect my face, neck and face…

Last week, i received an invitation to try the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk with SPF50PA+++; since this UV milk offers high sun protection while caring for the skin, i’m most glad to review it! 🙂

This multi-purpose UV milk has 3-in-1 Protection benefits:

1) UV-Protection
2) Hydration
3) Make-Up Base

1) UV-Protection

As it contains high protection of SPF50PA+++, It will allow high, broad-spectrum protection against harmful UVA and UVB.

2) Hydration

Like other products in Hada Labo’s different product lines, Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF
50 PA+++ penetrates deeply into the skin to moisturize the skin with three types of Hyaluronic Acid. At the same time, it locks in moisture for soft, supple and radiant skin for a long lasting moisturizing effect.

3) Make-Up Base

To finish off, the UV milk acts as a Make-Up Base to allow cosmetics to glide on easily for a smoother and long-lasting application.

The different ingredients used FYI 🙂

As you can see, the UV milk is gentle on skin ,as it free of artificial ingredients such fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant so it will be gentle on skin. This UV milk also keeps the skin’s pH balanced and is rigorously tested for low skin irritation so it won’t burden the skin. The formula is also light and water-like and is quickly absorbed without stickiness / white residues left behind.

Good for all skin type, it is suitable for daily usage on the face, neck and body.

My humble review

Someone once told me that the maximum protection for a sunblock product is SPF 50 and the higher the SPF, the oilier the sun-block will get. I’m glad that this sunblock has the max SPF protection which has PA+++ protection against broad-spectrum UVA and UVB rays..

Since it has hydrating effect, it helps to soothe my sensitive skin… Texture is watery and it gets absorbed easily without a greasy after-feel… No fragrance is detected so no worries that it will irritate my sensitive skin… However, the UV milk isn’t waterproof as it can be rubbed off easily… Since I’ll subject myself to sea-water, rough water activities and tons of sweat, the UV milk won’t maintain its effects for long so it can be a hassle to keep reapplying it after sweating / swimming.. Worst of all, i don’t want it to run and gets into my eyes due to excessive sweat… I’ll see what i can do about it.. 🙂 This UV milk doesn’t leave behind a white cast / residue so it also acts like a perfect make up base. Thumbs up!

Will recommend it if you want an affordable sun block that’s good enough for normal daily use.. The Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing UV Milk SPF 50PA+++ is  available in a 38ml bottle, priced at S$19.90 and exclusively sold in Watsons.
